Heather A.

Breeder of German Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Heather A., the breeder behind Vom Eisenwald GSD located in Woodland, WA. We breed German Shepherds with clarity, stable nerves, and sound structure, with a strong emphasis on what actually matters: genetics. The cornerstone of our program is simple. A dog can only become what its genetics allow. Training can shape behavior, but it cannot create nerve, clarity, or stability where it does not exist. That is why we prioritize proven, heavily titled pedigrees and carefully consider inbreeding coefficients to maintain strong genetic diversity. Our dogs are imported, health tested, and selected for what they truly are at their core, we focus on what is inherited. Raised in a structured, kid-filled home, our puppies are given a strong start and backed by genetics that support clear thinking, adaptability, and sound temperament. The result is a German Shepherd capable of thriving in active family homes, sport, or real-world working roles according to the strengths it was born with.

Q. & A. with Heather

  • Why did you start breeding?

I began breeding after years of training shepherds and seeing how much temperament, clarity, and stability truly come from genetics, not training. I wanted to contribute to the breed by producing dogs whose nerve, structure, and clarity are inherited, not manufactured. My foundation dogs reflect that philosophy.
  • What makes your program special?

I prioritize stable nerves, clarity, and correct structure supported by proven, titled pedigrees and thoughtful COI management. My dogs are imported, health tested, and selected for what they are genetically. Raised in a structured, kid-filled home, my puppies develop confidence backed by sound, inherited temperament.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include plush and stock coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and red and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
