Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer M., the breeder behind Vom Friedenswald located in Vandalia, MI. We responsibly breed, raise, and socialize healthy pups so others can enjoy the gift of living life with a German Shepherd! We give our dogs the best lives possible. We are looking for families and individuals that will provide our puppies with the same level of love and care.

Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started showing dogs when I was 17 and have produced AKC champion Pembroke Welsh Corgis and St. Bernards, but also finished Champions in other breeds I owned or showed for others. I’ve always sought out the best in every breed I have owned, and won’t breed a dog if it isn’t up to my “dog snob” standards.
  • What makes your program special?

I’ve sought out what I want in a German Shepherd- Healthy, Social, Trainable, and Gorgeous. I choose dogs who fit the standard of the breed, with pedigrees to back that up. Health testing is a priority, no exceptions. I’m not a big breeder, but my standards are every bit as high and my goal is to always produce something better than the last generation- Dogs who make me proud of my hard work. We spare no time or expense to travel to use some of the top stud dogs in the world. Our puppies are raised in our home, in the family room- so they go home ready to blend right into life with their new families.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, black and tan, and black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We are so thrilled with Harry/Lars. Jennifer was spot-on with her description of him and he has been nothing but a joy to our family as he has settled in and gotten comfortable in his new home. If we choose to invest in another dog there is only one place we will go and that is Vom Friedenswald!
