Taylor S.

Breeder of German Shepherds and Belgian Tervuren

Meet the breeder

I'm Taylor S., the breeder behind vom Noctis located in Captain Cook, HI. We breed West German working-line German Shepherd Dogs and the occasional Belgian Tervuren. Our small, intentional program emphasizes health, sound structure, and stable temperaments, producing capable working partners and active companions suited for real work and balanced homes.

Q. & A. with Taylor

  • Why did you start breeding?

I’ve been passionate about dogs for as long as I can remember. My great-grandparents were German Shepherd breeders, so the breed has always been part of my family’s history. I bought my first purebred German Shepherd at 19 hoping to train for sport and protection, but she lacked the drive I wanted. Many breeders in Hawai‘i focus on show lines, so I wanted to bring working lines to the community.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program focuses on working-line German Shepherd Dogs bred for purpose. We aim to preserve the athletic structure, stable temperament, and durability that made the breed one of the world’s most versatile working dogs. Structure should support function, producing dogs capable of real work while remaining balanced companions for active homes, with roots in the SV working tradition.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our German Shepherd puppies include plush and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our German Shepherd puppies include sable, black, and bi-color. Belgian Tervuren puppies include mahogany and black and fawn and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
