Meet the breeder

I'm Shawnie M., the breeder behind Vom Osuna K9s located in Eugene, OR. We are a German Shepherd breeder based in Oregon. We have been involved with breeding Shepherds since 2018, when what started out as an accidental pet pregnancy turned into a fulfilling and life-changing experience. German Shepherds are by far the best breed we have ever owned! Nothing compares to sharing your life with such an amazing breed of dog. Through proper training, socialization and feeding our dogs a semi raw diet that is specifically made for their bodies, we have achieved just that! Our main priority is ensuring the health and well-being of all our animals from birth until they leave with their forever family - and beyond. We offer tons of advice and are always here to support our extended pack members for life.

Q. & A. with Shawnie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We have owned German Shepherds long before we started breeding and I have always considered starting a breeding program. I grew up around people who bred and trained dogs and have never met a better dog breed than the German Shepherd.
  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding program is a family affair! Our whole family helps with training, feeding socializing and caring for our dogs and puppies. We have special needs family members so we also expose our pups to the special needs community as well! Some of our puppies and dogs learn hand signs to communicate with special needs family.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include stock, plush, and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, black and tan, black and red, and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

It went wonderful!!! Shawnie was so quick on her responses, and very helpful and knowledgeable! My boyfriend and I were looking for a puppy that would fit in our family, we have two cats and another German Shepherd who is high energy and loves to play play play, I let Shawnie know our life style and what we love to do and she was able to help us pick the perfect puppy for our family, when I messaged her she only had two puppy’s left, I wanted to meet the puppies before I put a deposit and Shawnie was on it and had quick response and was able to meet us so we can meet the puppies she had left, my boyfriend and I just couldn’t decide on which puppy to choose but Shawnie was there to help us pick the puppy that best fit our family! Now we have the best puppy that fits in so well with our family, and on top of that our puppy is quick to learn and is very playful! Without Shawnie not only helping us pick the perfect puppy for our home, she was very quick at responding and very knowledgeable!

Northwest K9s was wonderful to work with. Kept me up to date with pictures and videos of our puppy Raven, who is beautiful, smart and easy to train (so far) I would recommend working with them. P.S any quote concerns were addressed. So excited for our new family member ❤️🐾🎉
