I'm Samantha M., the breeder behind vom Silbersand German Shepherds located in Michigan. Our main focus is training and competing in various venues including Schutzhund/IPO, dock diving, and conformation. We invest so much time raising and trialing our own dogs, so breeding is a hobby we only occasionally pursue when we have an exceptional pairing available. We pride ourselves in the hard work, dedication and integrity we pour into our dogs.
Q. & A. with Samantha
Why did you start breeding?
We started down the path of responsible breeding with our second competition female, Ari. She had an extremely successful career and we learned so much as a team. In looking for a future competition dog, we decided that a pup from her breeding would be the perfect fit. After selecting the perfect complimentary stud, we got just what we wanted and have continued competing with two of her offspring.
What makes your program special?
We spend most of our time training and competing. When we occasionally decide to pursue breeding, we pride ourselves in being very selective about the health and temperament of the pairing. Our goal is to produce a healthy competition dog that has the appropriate temperament to live with the family and be a good ambassador for the breed.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
