I'm Frances J., the breeder behind Vom Sturmjäger located in Winchester, KY. I am a small breeder of long coat German Shepherd Dogs. I breed according to the German SV Standards. We specialize in loveable pets and outstanding show/trial dogs. To me, the most important of anything is temperament. All of out dogs have passed all available temperament tests and have passed that trait thru to all the puppies in our litters. Quality over Quantity!

Why did you start breeding?
I have been showing in the German SV Style ring for ten years. I know now what is correct in a GSD and want to make the breed better. It takes a lot of time and research to find the correct mate.What makes your program special?
I adhere to all German SV standards - meaning health testing, titling, showing, etc. I strive to have well-rounded dogs, meaning they are capable of any sport but also capable of just laying on the couch with me.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Bindi is a large boned, beautifully pigmented female. She has earned her AD, BH, and passed her WB. Also has placed SG1 in the 18-24 month LSH class. She has the best temperament, very loving and likes spending time with her people. She is an absolutely wonderful watch dog, as she is very alert--I never fear a thing when she is in the house with me.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Temperament Test, Brucellosis, Dentition
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
