I'm Melissa M., the breeder behind vom Wenner Haus located in Mankato, MN. We are a small hobby breeder in southern Minnesota. We specialize in breeding the Working Lines German Shepherd Dog; paying close attention to temperament, mental stability, health clearances, sound structure and workability. We take breeding very seriously and only breed dogs that we feel are an excellent representation of what the German Shepherd Dog should be. Our dogs are first and foremost our constant loyal companions and sport dogs second. They live in our home and sleep in our bed. They love everyone and will be your best friend but yet protective, a perfect balance! Our dogs and their offspring have competed at the national level in several venues! With outstanding results... We are an AKC Breeder of Merit!!! Our puppies are eager to learn, energetic with sound conformation and great temperaments. They are being trained in a wide variety of venues, just to name a few: schutzhund, K-9 (Police), obedience, tracking, conformation, rally, agility, herding, nosework, therapy dog, service dog, bed bug detectors, weight pull and search and rescue....

Melissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price
Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Includes, AKC registration, microchip, vet visit, toy, vaccination, socialization, puppy testing, wormers, etc. Holding fees are NON-REFUNDABLE unless there is no puppy that matches your goals and family situation based on the opinion of the breeder or not enough of the sex you requested.”

About Arya
Arya is a beautiful, rich colored, black sable female. She is smaller weighing about 60 but still a powerhouse. She LOVES to work and do anything as long as it is with me. She has a great temperament and is super funny and cuddly but protective, so a very balanced dog. She is very athletic and very active. Like all my dogs she competes in everything that I am able to do with her and she is also in training to take her mom's place as my service dog when she is no longer able..

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
