



I'm Michaela L., the breeder behind Von Dem Flussufer located in Rensselaer Falls, NY. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament and workability. At Von Dem Flussufer, we title our German Shepherd Dog’s in various venues to prove they are a good representation of the breed. Our dogs also are our demo dogs for our training business Mountainside K9 LLC and live in our house with us.

Akira is human and dog social. She lives with an active family with a toddler, is used daily as a demo dog for our training business Mountainside K9, and is handled by multiple people on a daily basis. Akira is willing to problem solve until she figures it out which makes training fun and easy. She has high hunt drive, high food drive, and high prey drive. She has a deep bark and does well in protection with calm and full grips. She has had one previous litter resulting in a fun and driven puppy that is social and determined!

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test, Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
