I'm Beverley C., the breeder behind Von Der Sagobi located in Riverside, CA. We breed healthy, resilient, and temperamentally sound German Shepherds for work, sport, and active companions. Our dogs are suitable for working or sport prospects but also as active, involved companions for loving pet homes. We love pairing our dogs with their perfect forever homes.
Q. & A. with Beverley
Why did you start breeding?
Breeding was something I became interested in the longer I became involved in the sport. I found some mentors and began learning basic breeding principles and how to read pedigrees. After a few years, I was offered an opportunity to co-own a lovely sable female, and that began my breeding journey.
What makes your program special?
At Von Der Sagobi, we are breeding for a well-rounded, healthy, happy dog, not merely for sports and shows. Our dogs live in the house, so no neurotic behavior or hyperactivity is tolerated. My dogs are wonderful companions and they bring energy to the field when it is time to train. If you are looking for your next beloved, versatile, active companion, look no further! Pups are sold on limited registration, until hips and elbows are done.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable, black, bi-color, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

In the work Edge has excellent prey drive, full hard grips, a genetic inclination towards tracking, and loves to fight the helper. Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Von Der Sagobi reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Lumbosacral Transitional Vertebra (LTV)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
