I'm Michele S., the breeder behind Von Lindesfarne located in Seville, OH. The Scarberry's are dedicated to the German Shepherd Dog, their combined experience allows them to breed outstanding dogs with superior temperaments and working abilities that do well as companions, pets, sport dogs, Police K9 and Search and Rescue. Breeding stock with clear hip-elbow, spine, DM test, dental conformation evaluation, performance/working titles, and breed survey.

Why did you start breeding?
As a child, I helped my mother with her breeding program, for Dobermans then Rottweilers.What makes your program special?
I am adamant about health testing, titling and surveying all breeding stock.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable, black, and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Michele
Michele has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“All puppies are the same price. Same guarantee. Deposits are nonrefundable. once puppies are whelped-I contact my reservation list to inform people of color/sex - at that time i require a deposit to reserve a pick (picks are chosen in the order deposits are received) preference is always given to Sport homes first, Co Ownership is available to selected sportsmen.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Dentition, Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Profile, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
