I'm Aron W., the breeder behind Von Schönen Träumen German Shepherds located in Roanoke, AL. Our quality puppies are the result of extensive research and thorough care for our dogs. Some of which have gone on to become service/therapy and ESA dogs! We are dedicated to building the breed by extensive health testing, and ensuring breed standards are passed down with each of our litters.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Having a love for the German Shepherd and several years of knowledge available was only the beginning. After having subsequent run-ins with irresponsible breeders in search of a puppy, our founder Aron Williams created VST German Shepherds. With a commitment to the safety, health, and happiness of his German Shepherds and their puppies, we strive to ensure your longevity and health of your puppy.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our emphasis is to create a GSD that is well-tempered, obedient, confident, easily trained, and would make an excellent companion dog while yet having strong show potential. The dogs we breed are 100% purebred, certified by DNA test, extensively health tested, and are all AKC-registered. We breed to the SV World Standard and take great measures to ensure your puppy will be healthy and happy.

    Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are black and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Aron

Aron has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All of our puppies are the same price regardless of gender. Prices include AKC registration papers, extensive DNA panel, health guarantee, NuVet, vaccinations, deworming, ENS, and microchip! The deposit is a $500 non-refundable amount that goes toward overall purchase of the puppy.”

Aron may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
