I'm Alisha P., the breeder behind Von Thomson Haus located in Motley, MN. We offer quality puppies out of proven working lines to active families and as AKC sport dogs. We do our best to breed with total care by primarily focusing on raising healthy, affectionate, and loyal companions. From birth, our puppies are raised using ENS & Puppy Culture to help shape the best puppy possible. My life schedule allows me to spend maximum amount of time and working with the puppies during the entire time they are with me, resulting in highly social and advanced puppies. As a result of our efforts, we’re positive our puppies will become perfect family members and add just as much joy to your life as they have ours! In addition to this- when you select a Von Thomson Haus puppy- you can rest assured that both parents will have had OFA Hip & Elbow Clearances as well as known DM statuses on both parents. Our puppies always come with prepaid (limited) AKC Registration that gets completed at time of pickup. We place all puppies with limited registration until official OFA, Pennhip or SV reports are completed.

Alisha has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

"Pre-paid AKC Registration (limited AKC Registration), vet exams, age appropriate vaccinations ( Initial checkup at 6 weeks along with 1st set vaccinations, 2nd check at 8 weeks- receive booster vaccinationat this time), microchipped, and to-go bags. Older puppies prices may be adjusted to accommodate for additional vaccinations & vet exam as well as feed/age appropriate chews/training. We offer payment options through Klarna on final puppy payments (this does not include deposits). **We try to take into consideration color preferences- however we always consider temperament first. If we do not feel comfortable with the puppy/family based off of preferred color or litter, we will be honest with the family and suggest a better pup for them- this could mean moving onto the next litter depending on what puppies are currently available. . Deposits are non-refundable however can be transferred to a future litter if we are notified a minimum of 48hrs prior to scheduled 8 week vet appointment (Puppies must be paid in full by the time they are 9wks old EVEN if they are still here). Deposits on our last litter of the season are NOT transferable unless the litter did not produce enough puppies of preferred genders. If 8+ week old pups are needing to be held longer than a week, we ask they are paid in full instead of deposit being placed (however we will not hold a puppy without deposit placed). We try to take into consideration color preferences- however we always consider temperament first and feel that puppy families should considerpersonality over color as well, if there are significant differences in personality and drives. If we do not feel comfortable with the puppy/family based off of preferred color, we will be honest with the family and suggest a better pup for them."

Found this from an unnamed source... Wanted to share- German Shepherds can vary in their temperaments. They are good dogs, and can adapt to their owners, to some extent. Most German Shepherds do best with a person who has clear views of right and wrong--clear boundaries--that aren't likely to change. This means the German Shepherd learns that begging at the table will never get him food because the owner isn't even tempted to feed him from the table. The German Shepherd knows that his needs will always be met because the owner couldn't imagine not taking care of his dog before himself. Most German Shepherds do well with owners who have strong wills but gentle hearts. A headstrong German Shepherd will find security in his confident, calm owner. A sensitive German Shepherd will also find security in the same kind of owner. German Shepherds are committed, and need owners who are too. This is a lifetime relationship, as reliable as the sun or the force of gravity. Some people find this comes naturally, but others feel encumbered by this kind of commitment. Know yourself. German Shepherds are a little like children: they take you for granted and push all your buttons and then expect you to be there for them when they need you. If you are too soft hearted to crate train them, they will chew up your shoes as a reward. They keep asking for more and more, when you think you've given all you have. But then, when they're grown, they turn around and do the same thing for you--giving more and more when they've already given all they have. You don't have to know everything before you begin. Your dog will teach you about himself; you just have to know yourself.

Zena went in today to confirm what we already knew ❤️💕❤️ Girl went off her food a while ago, and has been demonstrating behaviors we observe only when she's pregnant (as well as has gained "a bit" of weight)- but today was blood test day. On the way home she got herself 2 pup cups and girlie loves herself that ice cream ❤️💕❤️ 1st (black specific) & 2nd pick (sable) females spoken for 1st pick male spoken for (sable specific)

About Fena
Fena was a puppy we long waited for. Her mother was a direct Czech import and we tried multiple times with outside studs for a pregnancy (Caty traveled all the way to Illinois for one attempted breeding!). We settled with the fact that we'd never have a litter from her... and then a miracle happened! Fena was the only female in her litter, so we knew from day one she was our keeper. Fena is maturing beautifully and absolutely adores puppies. She's got such a gentle soul to her, but is full with confidence and is willing to try anything we ask her to. She embraces low-medium drive. Fena was tested and is a DM carrier- however we will be very selective when pairing her. With Fena being a DM carrier- being as she will only ever be paired with a DM clear stud- her offspring will have the potential to carry the gene and will not be affected. As most of our puppies go into family homes with no interest in breeding, we have added Fena to our Mom group. Fena is OFA rated "Good" Hips & "Normal" Elbows. Fenas mother is Czech Import/ predominant Czech with traces of DDR lines. Fenas father was Czech/DDR. She is 3/4 Czech/DDR, 1/4 American. Fena is aw+at, resulting in sable and bicolor puppies when paired with either Argo or Thor.

About Argo
Argo is black recessive dark sable. He is full DDR lines and has an impressive lineage. Argo loves people and thrives off of attention. He loves actively playing with children as well as adults. Argo has a sweet disposition and his main goal in life is to be with his family. OFA Good/Normal. Argo is DM Clear by parentage. Argo is an incredible addition to our program and allows us to offer pure black puppies starting Spring '26! Argo is aw+a. When paired with Berlin and Zena, sable & black offspring. When paired with Diana and Fena (both are aw+at), Sable & bicolor offspring.

About Thor
Thor is everything I could ask for in a male. He has solid nerves and his confidence knows no limits. He is gentle with the children, eagerly greets visitors and is completely safe off leash both attended and unattended on the farm. He loves to go swimming and playing chuckit is his favorite past time. During my search for an adult male Shepherd breeding prospect, I had very strict criteria that had to be met. I needed a mentally sound dog, I required absolutely no allergies, Good or better Hip OFAs and "Normal" Elbows- as well as DM Cleared. I also sought predominant Czech or DDR lines and a large, sturdy build. He needed to be safe around my children as well as visitors and he needed to be comfortable around other dogs- as well as farm animals. Thor has it all. I call him my "Mav reincarnate" as everything about him resembles my prior male that I regretfully rehomed. Thor quickly becomes a favorite when families come out to meet the puppies, and I've had a large amount of people tell me that he remolds what they envision a male shepherd to be like. We often get asked of we're considering parting with Thor- and the answer is, and always will be "He's here for life". Thor absolutely loves going on rides and is comfortable in stores and in restaurants and I honestly do not think anything phases this guy. Thor is predominant Czech bred- does carry DDR lines. No WGWL. Thor is aw+at, resulting in sable and bicolor puppies when paired with any of my current females.

About Berlin
Berlin is a large, jet black female. Berlin was hand raised by myself using ENS & Puppy Culture and the results are surely present. Berlin loves going on outings and is eager to go to parks and let unknown children play fetch with her. She's an outstanding advocate for the breed, and my greatest asset in my program. Berlin has proven to be a phenomenal mother who loves to stay with her puppies. Berlin had her first litter in June '24 and she had no problem remaining with the puppies until I asked her to wean them at 7 weeks. Berlin is high play drive, low prey drive. As a young puppy, Berlin was high prey drive, however consistency paid off and she hardly notices the poultry and other small critters on the farm. Berlin eagerly meets all visitors who stop in- though her larger structure and jet black coat often detours people from engaging with her. Berlin is DM clear through parentage. We will also mention Berlin carries predominant Czech lines with a bit of DDR & WGWL.

About Diana
Diana is a new arrival (Spring '25). She boasts a powerful pedigree full of impressive Czech lines with a little West German lines. She is a Devil pod Cvilínem daughter, as well as a Bolle Ja Na Ka grand daughter. Diana is a Czech import. Diana is DM Clear. Diana is aw+at, resulting in sable and bicolor puppies when paired with both Thor & Argo.

About Zena
Zena is a gorgeous, stunning black girl. She has a smaller frame to her and her healthy weight ranges from 62-65lbs. Zena is confident in all environments and loves going out in the community. Zena is high drive, however is safe with all farm animals- even when unattended. Zena loves greeting visitors and is highly interactive with them. She was originally sold from one of our litters as an 8 week old, and in late winter '24 I had the opportunity to bring her back home. I was considering spaying her when she came back as Berlin (whom is a full sister out of the same litter) was going to be my only mother dog this year, however I grew curious and decided to get her OFAs completed before making the decision. I am proud to say that Zena is the first Excellent OFA Hip rating out of my program. That being said- she was even rated Excellent at 42 months and after having a litter last year! Zena quickly gained my trust in her with farm critters and visitors. It's quickly observed by visitors how much Zena loves to show off and how eager she is to have a volunteer to play chuckit with her. Zena is DM Clear through parentage. We will also mention Zena carries predominant Czech lines with a bit of DDR & WGWL.

Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Alisha was amazing to work with! She was quick to respond, answered all the questions I had about Elle, worked with me on getting her ready to come to me, and helped with getting Elle transported. Elle is more than I could have asked for. She is a beautiful, well behaved, and an intelligent puppy. She gets along great with both my 8 year old daughter and my 9 month old pit-bull mix puppy. Elle was the missing piece in our family! Alisha sent me links for things she had used with Elle so I could make her comfortable when she got to me and even sent two bags of stuff for her when she came. She continued to check in once Elle came home to make sure she was settling in. Alisha was also amazing when Elle had a small health issue. I called Alisha for some suggestions and she was able to give me some great advice and I got Elle back mended. It is so obvious how much love and time she puts into her puppies and it shows. Elle is really such a good girl. I really couldn’t have asked for a better breeder to work with and I am very thankful I found her!

Alisha was exactly the breeder I was looking for, and I’m so glad I trusted her with helping me find my next best friend. I honestly can’t give her enough praise. She has always been just a text away whenever I’ve had a question, and she continues to check in on us. She’s given me so many helpful suggestions and support whenever I’ve needed it. She’s truly been an invaluable resource and made this whole process seamless. The puppy I got from her is everything I hoped for. He is eager to please, fearless, and incredibly smart. We’re currently in a cooperative care class, and both my trainer and vet were impressed with how confidently he handled being touched by strangers. He’s already picking up so many tricks, and everywhere we go people tell me he’s the perfect puppy. Finding a good German Shepherd breeder can be difficult, since aggression is unfortunately common in the breed, but this little guy is the friendliest dog on the planet. It’s so clear how much Alisha loves and cares for her dogs and how much thought she puts into her breeding program. She really just cares so much. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you, Alisha!

Alisha has been absolutely phenomenal with helping me getting my new German Shepherd puppy! We had a really nice phone interview and she answered a lot of my questions that I had, and even gave me updates on the pups in terms of helping me find the right personality that would fit my small family, giving me advice on care instructions, and even transferring ownership, including my puppy's microchip! If I ever decide to get another Shepherd in the future and Alisha is still here, I will be 100% coming back to her because she takes such amazing care for her Shepherds!

Alisha was quick to communicate, immediately sharing her puppies and information on first reach out, as well as quick to set up a first meet! I couldn't have asked for a better experience with ease of transition, a truly friendly environment, and the utmost care. My little guy is already leaps and bounds ahead thanks to Alisha! The love is limitless here!
