Meet the breeder

I'm Angela V., the breeder behind V's Southern Angels located in Snow Camp, NC. Our dogs stole our hearts right from the start and we found ourselves wanting to get more involved. Breeding was a natural next step and we haven’t looked back since!

Q. & A. with Angela

  • Why did you start breeding?

In 2008 we purchased a smooth coat red female named Sophie. She was the light of our life. When she passed we had one of her babies from the one litter she had "Miss Roxy" and she along with us went in to a depression. So we rescued a Dachshund mix from the pound. And with that being said " that is how the cookie crumbles"
  • What makes your program special?

I will never say that my breeding program is anymore special than anyone else's program. But I will say we give everyone of our babies so much love that it makes it really hard to let them leave.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include cream, chocolate and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Basset Hound puppies include lemon and white, blue tan and white, black brown and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Angela was amazing from the moment I inquired about a puppy. She is very knowledgeable about the breed and her specific pups. She was great at updating with pictures and videos and staying in contact and available for questions after we got the pup. She was great about finding a good meeting spot and gave me all the information I could need when getting the puppy. She is so sweet and definitely loves her pups so much!

We had such an amazing experience with angela! She clearly loves this breed and takes extra care of her puppies. We wanted to come and see where she kept the dogs and how she cared for them…which she highly encouraged us to do so! We clearly saw a breeder who went above and beyond caring for ALL her dogs and puppies. If we were to adopt another dachshund we would/will reach out to Angela again!

After many weeks of search for a Miniature Dachshund breeder within driving distance we found V's Southern Angels. They responded right away and within two weeks we on our way to visit our future Baby Girl (Gabby). The communications between the breeder and us was exceptional with all questions answered quickly. We got constant updates with pictures and progress reports, even a picture of her at the vet during the checkup. V's Southern Angels is very family orientated which included all the fur babies. In July we went to pick up our newest family member, gabby. We were greeted with the breeder and the entire Dachshund family. It was a wonderful visit in a great home. She gave us all the paper work and a bag with Gabby's name on it filled with all kinds of goodies that have been very useful. After visiting for a time we started off with Gabby and as we looked back you could see the entire fur family sitting in front of the storm door watching us leave, they knew another member of there family was going to a new home. Gabby has been a total blessing and fit right in with our other 6mo Dachshund and 8yr old Brussel Griffin/Pug mix. We communicate with our breeder keeping them up dated with her shots and milestones along with pictures. Two Dachshunds are never enough. We are excitedly waiting for V's Southern Angels to have another litter of fur babies so we can add to our family.
