I'm Christina P., the breeder behind Waidman IRWS located in Escalon, CA. We are dedicated hobby breeders, we have been breeding Setters for 40 years, we are committed to breeding Irish Red and White Setters with strong working abilities. We strive to do our best in making them reliable hunting partners with great work ethic We do not maintain a kennel setting, everyone lives with us as a member of the family. We have been involved with the breed since 1996, members of Parent and Breed Clubs, serving on committees that are important to the breed.

Why did you start breeding?
After spending years learning from mentors and of course, having top quality dogs, it came naturally to take the net step and breed.
What makes your program special?
We have 9 generations of Champions. To us, breeding is a dedication to preserve and to improve this breed. It is a life commitment and passion. Our dogs are what make it special.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are red and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Puppy prices include a $300 refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
