Walburga German Shepherds

Cherie F.

Breeder of German Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Cherie F., the breeder behind Walburga German Shepherds located in Ione, CA. We prepare all our pups to thrive in their future jobs & homes. Our dogs are excellent working dogs, and we are proud to continue their line. We breed both to provide families with loving and capable companions and to improve upon our dogs' fantastic traits with each generation.

Q. & A. with Cherie

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have to admit, I initially had no interest in breeding. I fulfilled an obligation to my mentor breeder in allowing her to breed my girl. As a dog trainer, I fell in love with the type of puppies I could create when I raised them from the very beginning. We begin teaching them lifeskills at 3 weeks old, and those skills make their training so much easier for their families!
  • What makes your program special?

We do PuppyCulture to make very confident stable pups that have a focus to learning! We actually work our dogs, so we have a comprehensive understanding of who they are. Our puppies are started on litter box by three weeks, crate training and beginning clicker training at four weeks so that they have skills developed before they ever leave us! For those that prefer, we offer puppy raising as well!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
