I'm Kayleen K., the breeder behind Waystar Weimaraners located in London, OH. I have been breeding since 1997. I love producing healthy, happy Weimaraners as family companions. Our dogs compete in AKC events and placing at Westminister Dog Shows. While I am heavily involved in the show world, my dogs are, first and foremost, my beloved companions. I strive for excellence in everything I do and am honored to bring this magnificent breed to others.
Q. & A. with Kayleen
Why did you start breeding?
Both my husband and I grew up on farms with a variety of animals. His parents owned and showed Weimaraners growing up. I fell in love with the breed and have never turned back. I was interested in a competitive activity so I got into showing my dogs. Watching my dogs excel in the ring gave me the desire to produce more high quality dogs which led to beginning my breeding program. It has been an absolute joy to breed and raise these wonderful dogs and to share them with others who love them as much as I do.
What makes your program special?
I focus my energy and attention to producing the highest quality puppies. With an emphasis on health and temperament, I am able to pair together the perfect matches to bring happy, healthy, well-rounded puppies into the world. My experience as a professional handler has given me the tools and knowledge necessary to thoroughly socialize, handle, and raise each of my puppies so that they can achieve greatness in any venue.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are gray. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
