I'm April A., the breeder behind Wendover Terriers located in Menifee, CA. I am passionate about raising well-rounded pups who will excel in any venue with their new families. My pups will continue to excel in their chosen field, whether that be working, showing, or as an active companion. They are structurally sound, healthy, intuitive, and have wonderful temperaments. I raise all of my dogs with love in my home and care for them as members of my family.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My dogs are bred to produce healthy, sound, and versatile pups. My ultimate goal is to produce athletic and well-structured canines that can excel within various performance venues and have the ability to be the greatest family companions. As a breeder, I feel a sense of responsibility to prioritize the overall health and temperament of each of my puppies and to ensure that they are loved and well cared for before joining their forever homes.

  • What makes your program special?

    My love for Jack Russell Terriers and Parson Russell Terriers inspired me to share this amazing breed with the world in a responsible way. I am devoted to ensuring there are happy and healthy Jack Russell Terriers and Parson Russell Terriers for others to enjoy, and I do so by responsibly growing this incredible breed. It has been an absolute joy of a journey, and I am so happy to be able to share these wonderful dogs with other loving families and individuals.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Parson Russell Terrier puppies include white and tan, white, tri-colored, and black and white. Jack Russell Terrier puppies include tri-color, white, tan and white, brown and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Getting a puppy from April

April has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, April partners with them to find the best puppy match.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • JRTCA Registry, Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Late Onset Ataxia, Spinocerebellar Ataxia (LOA, SCA), DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Wayne has been the sweetest pup as one can be. I can tell April raised him with love and attentiveness. He is in very perfect health and you can tell he came with lots of love from his family. I was skeptical at first using Good Dog but April eased my worries. She was quick to reply with my questions and kept me informed with all of the pups growth. She also put me in with a ”flight nanny”. Which made my life and stress way easier. Wayne flew from N California to Seattle WA arriving healthy and a tail a wagging!     So, we drove to Cali to pickup Axel a Jack Russell Terrier. His name was changed to Hosea.     It was the best experience I’ve ever had! April was very informative for me; I was told I would get him from a nannie, Brittany and she kept me fully apprised of what she was doing with him; we met and handed me my baby and I’m the happiest person in the world! He is eating and drinking and very rambunctious! This is the only breeder I will ever go through and anyone else using her will be amazed! Thank you so much April; great puppy!
