I'm Wendy G., the breeder behind Wendy Gendreau's - Rivers Run Bernese Mountain Dogs located in Sacramento, CA. My goal is to produce a great representation of the Bernese Mountain Dog with a focus on health and temperament. My priority is to ensure the health and well-being of all my dogs from birth until they leave with their forever family and beyond! I would be honored to introduce you to your next beloved pup!

Why did you start breeding?
I have always loved dogs and was excited to establish my breeding program. I have enjoyed the journey, and I am a proud breeder with a focus on temperament and the overall mental and physical health of my puppies. I find joy in placing happy, healthy puppies with loving families!What makes your program special?
I care deeply about Bernese Mountain Dogs and have built that love and respect for the breed into every aspect of my program. Holding myself to high standards is paramount to the well-being of my dogs and to the integrity of my program. I am very dedicated to what I do and what I aim to achieve as a breeder. I work with passion, heart, and integrity, and I truly want what's best for the Bernese Mountain Dog line!What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black rust and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Wendy
Wendy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The price includes AKC registration papers to file. first/seconds shots and de worming with socializations. Some potty training and start of basic puppy training skills. All puppies are the same price and it is first come first serve.”

Program update on 28 Oct. •I am sad to announce Trinity’s breeding did not take.

Program update on 06 Oct. •…Fingers crossed Trinity and Dee breeding took. Will be doing ultra sound at vets on 10/27/25. First three are Trinity 4th is Dee then 5th is Dee’s dad! This will be a good looking and strong litter! Looking forward to seeing if she is going to have babies. Let me know if you are interested to be on a wait list.

Program update on 30 Apr. •…Well Trinity is in season. Rivers Run CNDs Trinity will meet Sequoia Oaks Scotland. All photos above are of Trinity. I will have pictures of Scotland at breeding time. WOW they are going to be some spectacular puppies! Send in your applications and let’s get this wait list started. I am so excited to raise this litter for you all! Will keep you posted.

Program update on 26 Mar. •Yes we have passed our OFA’s. Trinity is all certified. Puppies will be coming she should be having her next heat cycle soon!

Program update on 14 Mar. •…Trinity is a loving and gentle beautiful strong girl. Waiting for OFA to come back. Vet said looks like excellent hips and elbows. Once that comes back I will make decision to breed her. She comes from a wonderful line. Will keep you updated.

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, DNA Profile
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
