I'm Heather S., the breeder behind Wild Rooster Family Farm (AKC Anatolians OFA Hips Tested) located in Kalispell, MT. At Wild Rooster Family Farm in Kalispell, Montana, our AKC Anatolian Shepherds are raised with sheep, chickens, children and love. Heath-tested and true to their heritage, our pups grow into devoted guardians - protecting family and livestock with confidence and sharing gentle loyalty at home.
Q. & A. with Heather
Why did you start breeding?
We fell in love with the breed and feel strongly about being stewards for these noble dogs. We have started a small farm in Kalispell, Montana. We keep chickens, sheep and have a 1/2 acre market garden in the summer. We brought on our Anatolians after searching far and wide for the best possible genetics available.
What makes your program special?
We currently have 3 dogs on 20 fenced acres, our dogs run free on our property and live their best lives. Many breeders will run up to 8 breeding dogs on 10 acres or less. Our dogs are with sheep and chickens on a daily basis but first and foremost their strongest bond is with us, their beloved people. We also believe in the puppy culture program as well as a lengthy manding training program.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Tucker
Tucker is a 3 year old Anatolian. He's 33 inches tall and a trim 130 lbs, which is close to maximum height and weight for this breed. Most of our visitors comment on the fact that he is more like a horse than a dog. He is a gentle giant and loves back scratches. Tucker comes from a fantastic bloodline that has rich AKC history and champion dogs.

Anatolian Shepherd Dog
About Bailey
Bailey was acquired from Shepherd's Rest, a highly regarded importer and breeder of Anatolian Shepherds directly from Turkey.
Bailey’s parents were recently imported from Turkey and were selected for their abilities guarding livestock against predators. She embodies the traits ideal for a working dog on a farm or ranch. Bailey is sweet, dependable, predictable and a total Alpha Guardian. She is a great protector and loves to be petted and loved. She is great with our children, sheep, and chickens.

We had an absolutely incredible experience getting our puppy from Wild Rooster Farm. We worked with Heather’s husband, Barrett, and from the very beginning Barrett was extremely communicative and professional. He kept us updated every single week with photos, videos, and messages so we always felt included in our puppy’s growth and milestones. He was always available for me to ask questions and help prep for our little guy to come home.
When our puppy finally came home, he was everything we hoped for and more—healthy, confident, so handsome, and pretty much potty trained!. At his first vet visit, the doctor said he is a perfect puppy, and we couldn’t agree more. It’s clear that Wild Rooster Family farm puts so much care, intention, and love into breeding and raising their dogs. Not to mention their ranch is absolutely gorgeous!
We truly could not be happier with our experience or with our amazing new puppy, Björn. Thank you, Barrett and Wild Rooster for making this such a smooth, joyful, and trustworthy process. Wild Rooster Farm is exceptional, and we would recommend it 20/10 times to anyone looking for a high-quality, well-raised puppy.

We recently adopted an Anatolian Shepherd puppy from Wild Rooster Family Farms, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the experience. Barrett, who we interacted with, was incredibly knowledgeable about the Anatolian Shepherd breed. He took the time to explain their careful breeding practices, the puppies’ health protocols, and the early training they undergo.
Despite some last-minute changes to our travel plans, the breeders were amazingly accommodating. We had originally planned a road trip to pick up our puppy, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to have her shipped. Barrett and Heather handled everything seamlessly, making the process stress-free and comfortable for us.
From the moment we received our puppy, it was clear how well she was cared for. She’s healthy, adorable, and has a wonderful temperament, You can really tell Wild Rooster Family Farms care about their puppy’s and see the dedication to maintaining the breed
Overall, our experience with Wild Rooster Family Farms and Barrett was outstanding, and we highly recommend them to anyone looking to welcome an Anatolian Shepherd into their family.

We had such a great experience getting our Anatolian Shepherd from Heather and Barrett at Wild Rooster Family Farm. From start to finish, they were super thorough and easy to work with. Communication was always clear and quick, and the whole process was way smoother than I expected. Everything was simple, organized, and stress-free.
When we’re ready for our second LGD, we’ll 1000% be coming back to them. We’re so happy with our puppy and the experience overall! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a LGD.
I also have to add that our pup came already knowing some basic commands, such as sit and knowing to sit before being fed. He hasn’t had any accidents inside at all. Very smart guy, and I credit a lot of that to the work of Heather and Barrett.

I had a great experience with Wild Rooster Family Farm. I am recently retired and wanted to take a road trip so I drove from Texas to Montana to pick up Happy (as in Gilmore) and got to meet Heather and Barrett. It was nice to see Happy’s parents who are legit working dogs. Impressive. Happy and I had an adventure on the drive back and got to know each other. He is doing great, growing like a weed, and is as smart as a whip. I can not recommend WRFF highly enough.
