I'm Heather S., the breeder behind Wild Rooster Family Farm – AKC Anatolian Shepherd Breeder, OFA Health Tested located in Kalispell, MT. At Wild Rooster Family Farm in Kalispell, Montana, our AKC Anatolian Shepherds are raised with sheep, chickens, children, and love. Health-tested and true to their heritage, our pups grow into devoted guardians—protecting family and livestock with confidence while sharing gentle loyalty at home.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We fell in love with the breed and feel strongly about being stewards of these noble dogs. After starting our small farm in Kalispell, Montana—with chickens, sheep, and a summer market garden—we searched far and wide to find the best possible genetics and welcomed our Anatolians into the family.

  • What makes your program special?

    We keep a small, intentional program with just three dogs on 20 fenced acres, allowing them to live freely and enjoy a full, enriched life. They spend daily time with sheep and chickens while forming a deep bond with our family. We follow Puppy Culture principles, a thoughtful manding training program, and puppies are well started on potty training by 8 weeks.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Heather

Heather has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Heather partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes microchip, deworming, and first vaccinations. Puppies are AKC-registrable and come from health-tested parents. All puppies are the same price. Pricing may differ only for approved breeding homes with a breeding agreement.”

Contract & health guarantee

Heather may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     From the beginning the Wild Rooster Family Farm was wonderful. Barrett spent nearly an hour of the phone talking about the puppies and our living situation including the size of our ranch and the personalities of our dog. Heather was wonderful setting up secure payment through Good Dog. We had our puppy shipped, and Barrett was very knowledgeable about this process. Our Ranger quickly became a member of our family. He is quite the character and thinks he is one of the big boys. He joined 3 Cane Corsos, an English Mastiff, and a border collie as well as his humans.     Heather and Barrett have been amazing throughout the entire process. From puppy updates with pictures and videos, to advice for when I got him and beyond, it’s been an awesome experience. These two truly care about their pups and making sure they go to good homes that will be a good match for the puppy. I’ve never had a puppy shipped to me before, but Barrett walked me through the whole process. I’ve got my boy now, we named him Odin, and he’s doing great. Odin arrived healthy, confident, and clearly loved, which says a lot about the care Heather and Barrett put into raising their pups. We worked with Heather’s husband, Barrett, and from the very beginning Barrett was extremely communicative and professional. He kept us updated every single week with photos, videos, and messages so we always felt included in our puppy’s growth and milestones.     We recently adopted an Anatolian Shepherd puppy from Wild Rooster Family Farms, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the experience.
