I'm Jaa S., the breeder behind Wild West Basenjis located in Tucson, AZ. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! We are dedicated to always providing our buyers and our puppies with a positive experience, which includes remaining committed to responsible practices when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our puppies.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I was raised in a farm family where we bred and showed horses. I was a member of 4 H as a kid
  • What makes your program special?

    we rasie dogs first with a eye for temperment. buyer needs to undersatnd we are in TUCSON AZ if you want a pup you will need to plan to travel to pick up. with temps in the 103+ degree range for more then half the year shipping is NOT possible. if you live out os state and are willing to come to Tucson for pick up please feel free to contact us for the pups coming in 2023.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,550 - $1,850 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“We give the first round of shots, worming and socialization with other dogs pups get a vet check when new born and have due claws removed. Parents health checked. for the most part deposits are non refundable.. but I have altered depending on circumstances.”

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Fanconi Syndrome, PRA, Basenji Type

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
