Kobuk heads home to his new family in WI in a couple of weeks. He is all things spice and excitement and loves to work. He’s going to make for a great hunting and adventure buddy.

Amanda
Teton is loving his new home in Nevada. He is such a sweet boy with such a calm disposition.

Amanda
Our boys are growing up so fast! We are in the early stages of weening. They love to wrestle with one another and have started to find their vocal cords.

Dex and Lottie's litter

Amanda
Green(male) has learned to hold his own against Red when feeding. He is more quiet and reserved, but resilient. He has found his voice and knows mom will instantly come calling if he is ever howling. He prefers to sleep in the corner or the whelping box and prefers to stay on his belly when sleeping, unlike his brother. He is very sweet and learning to listen and follow to the sounds around him.

Dex and Lottie's litter

Amanda
Red(Male) is the chuck of the family. He has been and probably always be a bigger structured dog. He opened his eyes earlier this week and has been trying to walk around. We’re still a little wobbly but we’re growing quickly so not much longer. He is full of personality and is often found either eating(he has to keep up the XL size) or asleep on his back, paws and belly up. ❤️

About Lottie
Lottie is a spunky girl with such a beautiful disposition about her. She officially earned her UKC Championship title in March of 2023 and continues to impress us in the UKC ring with bringing home another Group 1 in the June show. Lottie completed two levels of obedience training at an early age and has since gone on to earn her AKC Canine Good Citizen(CGC), Virtual Home Manners-Adult(VHMA), and Trick Dog Novice(TKN) titles. She has been started on birds and is showing promise to be a great bird dog by having already lead us to countless wild birds while out in the fields. Lottie completed her third season of big game recovery tracking and has several successful stories of recoveries. She also received her level 1 certification for big game recovery. She is a mellow Weimaraner with an easy going temperament and is friendly with both people and other animals. She loves to explore and run, but is also great at turning off the "Go" switch and will happily lounge around the house on a busy day. She has a mid-level of prey drive and is happy to look for a bird on command and works hard to use her nose to pick up the scent. She generally hunts within 50-75 yards of my hips so her style is geared more towards a hunter who want a closer ranged dog. The distance has and can be built through proper training and exposure. Lottie will be thoroughly genetically and health tested prior to any breedings. We are focusing on learning more about her in both her positive attributes and in her short comings to help us properly select the correct male to compliment her.

About Becks
Becket II "Becks" is one of our pets who actively participates in sporting events throughout the region. He currently runs in both the coursing ability and the fast CAT racing events with the local Sighthound club. He also actively hunts with us during the shed antler and upland game seasons here in Utah. Becks is skilled at flushing and retrieving both dove and pheasants. Becks will not be part of our breeding program, but will continue to be a loved member of our family. He is our first Weimaraner and was our inspiration for building a strong breeding program here in Utah.

About Oakley
Oakley is just a family pet who enjoy walks, fetch, and lots of cuddle time. She is tender hearted, extremely loving, and my personal "Heart Dog." She exhibits a very docile temperament and makes a great house pet. She loves to explore when we go out for walks and hikes, but she ultimately choses to stay close by and it's generally at a "Heel" position after a few good runs. I would consider her a true version of a "Velcro dog." She loves her siblings and plays well with all of our dogs. Be sure to check out her pictures because she smiles in just about every photo.

Wild West Weimaraners reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Weimaraners.
Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
