Meet the breeder

I'm Margo L., the breeder behind Willowcreek English Setters located in Memphis, IN. I want to provide top-quality English Setters with a focus on health. English Setters make some of the best dog companions. My dogs work hard, play hard, love hard, and are part of the family. I prepare all of my pups to excel in life. I look forward to connecting with you!

Q. & A. with Margo

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always been invested in the well-being of animals. I wanted to give back to the breed by producing healthy pups and placing them into loving homes. My dogs are what transform your house into a happy, loving home.
  • What makes your program special?

I breed for conformation so that my puppies will grow to make great show dogs. With this in mind, I focus on maintaining the standards of the breed. I love what I do and truly want the very best for my puppies and their forever families. It will be my pleasure for me to send you home with your next English Setter puppy!
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Margo

Margo has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Margo partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We match puppy to their families based on preferred sex and color. Those wishing to show their dog ,or participate in AKC events are given preference. Returning families are given preference. I do not send puppies to homes with unfenced yards. Puppies will be offered to acceptable individuals based on my evaluations of your situation and plans for the pup. I will not ask for any down payment until the puppy is promised to you. I always keep my pick first, then returning puppy parents next . Although you can express a desire for a certain puppy, its temperament, and the role you wish him to play in your family , will be more important in my decision for placement. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and $1,659 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Excellent level

Willowcreek English Setters reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for English Setters.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • OFA/CHIC DNA Repository

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
