I'm Karen A., the breeder behind Windcrest Weimaraners located in Salvisa, KY. I've been breeding quality Weimaraners since 1971. I am a proud member of the Weimaraner Club of America. My goal is to advocate for the preservation and future well-being of the Weimaraner while also being a spokesperson for the breed. I love my dogs and what I do!

Why did you start breeding?
My program is built upon a foundation of love, admiration, and respect for the Weimaraner breed. It is an honor to represent this breed and to be able to create opportunities for others to do just the same.What makes your program special?
I am a premier breeder of Weimaraners. I am committed to only breeding dogs that meet the strict guidelines for quality that we have deemed appropriate to improving this wonderful breed with a focus on health, form, and function. My priority is quality over quantity, and I only produce limited litters. I can provide extensive knowledge and guidance for any family looking to bring home one of these exceptional dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
