I'm Jamie D., the breeder behind Winged Catahoulas located in Holden, MO. We believe in breeding to the standard, not just for structure but also drive and work ethic. Catahoula breeders should always aim to better the breed, not just produce pretty pets. We are very proud of our dogs accomplishments inside and outside the ring. We are dedicated to always having responsible policies when it comes to caring, breeding, training, and rehoming. We love what we do and truly want nothing more than to see each and every one of our puppies excel !
Q. & A. with Jamie
Why did you start breeding?
After competing at a few of the national shows and seeing the variation within the breed I decided to produce what I think a Catahoula should be.
What makes your program special?
We aim for a well balanced dog that is structurally correct and also possesses plenty of prey drive and work ethic. Raised in the quarter horse world with Foundation Quarter Horses, I was taught and learned that with Form follows Function. My mother always said "No feet, No legs, No horse". A poorly built animal will only be able to do the job up to the point that their body gives out. That's why we aim to produce a correct animal, one that can work and not live a life of health/joint issues and pain.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
