I'm Alise A., the breeder behind Wintercrest Farms located in Paducah, KY. We offer Old English Sheepdog pups that are true to the breed. Our pups are raised in our home and socialized by our dogs and lots of kids. We have bred and shown dogs and horses for more than 40 years and with several breeds over the years. That's the problem with dogs and horses, you can't pick just one.
Q. & A. with Alise
Why did you start breeding?
My grandmother used to show her Beagles so maybe I had a predisposition for it. I have been breeding dogs for about 30 years and have shown 3 breeds of dogs and horses.
What makes your program special?
Because we have had experience with so many different kinds of animals we really try to understand their social needs as well as their health. I love to see dogs who were bred for a purpose still be able to do that job. Sheepdogs should be protectors and still be loving and entertaining members of the family.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are blue gray and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Old English Sheepdog
About Harley
Harley has a very nice top line face with a nice stop and the best sheepdog coat I've ever worked with. His coat is easy to brush and he has thrown that to most of his puppies. He is very protective and loyal and no denying he is my boy.

Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Wintercrest Farms reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Old English Sheepdogs.
Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC)
