Q. & A. with Amanda

  • Why did you start breeding?

My passion for Whippets began long before I owned my own dogs. As a third-generation breeder, I was fortunate to grow up in a family where a love for purebred dogs, responsible breeding, and the sport of dogs was simply a way of life. From an early age, I learned the importance of preserving the breed through careful selection, health, sound temperament, and dedication to the AKC breed standard. That lifelong foundation inspired me to continue my family’s tradition. Today, I am committed to breeding AKC-registered Whippets that are not only beautiful enough to compete in the show ring but also healthy, affectionate companions for families. Every litter is thoughtfully planned, and each puppy is raised in my home with love, socialization, and the goal of making a positive contribution to this wonderful breed for generations to come.
  • What makes your program special?

What makes my breeding program special is the combination of generations of experience, a deep love for the Whippet breed, and a commitment to quality over quantity. As a third-generation hobby breeder in Southern California, I carefully plan each litter with a focus on health, sound temperament, structure, and preserving the AKC breed standard. My puppies are raised in my home as part of the family, where they receive daily socialization and are exposed to the sights and sounds of a busy household. Whether they go on to become successful show dogs or beloved family companions, my goal is to produce healthy, well-adjusted Whippets that will bring joy to their families for many years. I remain committed to supporting my puppy owners throughout the life of every dog I breed, because each puppy is a lifelong responsibility.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white and red brindle, white and fawn brindle, red brindle, fawn brindle, black, black brindle, and white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
