I'm Louise M., the breeder behind Xolos Mucino located in Marietta, GA. We have two Xolos from central Mexico. Yuma is 19lbs and intermediate/mini; Luna is 40lbs and standard. Previous litters have all grown to be larger than the sire at adulthood. A few grew to be bigger than their dam. Our litter of 6, born on May 9, 2023, is half coated and half hairless.
Q. & A. with Louise
Why did you start breeding?
My husband had xolos growing up and has always been fascinated by them. We adopted Yuma in 2013 while living in Mexico and returned there to adopt Luna in 2015 (we moved back to Atlanta in 2014).
Our first litter in 2017 was 5 with one coated.
Our second litter in 2019 was 7, all hairless.
Our third (final) litter this year is 6, half coated. 4 females, including all coated. We are keeping one.
What makes your program special?
I don’t have a program. This is our third and final litter.
In addition to promoting the breed we try to promote the history and cultural significance of this dog. I’m an easily accessible person and enjoy keeping in touch with everyone my pups go home to. We learn with each other as our pups grow.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include coated and hairless coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include fawn, brindle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
