I'm Sarah S., the breeder behind Yadah Sheepdogs located in Tulsa, OK. All of our dogs are well-beloved house pets. They get walks and they get taken to town on car rides. They get brushed daily, bathed often, & played with. The mothers demonstrate to their puppies proper manners & introduce them to the home life that they will know when they go to their new homes.

Old English Sheepdog
About Joy
Joy has an extra thick gray & white coat and two brown eyes. She is extra calm, gentle, super sweet, and especially goofy/silly. She greets us every morning in the hallway with her butt wiggles and happy face. She has strong motherly instincts and she will play with puppies all day, but also teaches them limits. Her puppies should be very well adjusted and socialized. She also has protective or guard dog traits. Absolutely the best temperament on this girl. Joy is 24" tall to her shoulder & 65 lbs. She is very square and has a nice blocky head.
Excellent health testing
Great level
Yadah Sheepdogs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Old English Sheepdogs.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA), Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, Kartagner Syndrome (PCD), Hereditary Ataxia, Cerebellar Ataxia, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
