Meet the breeder

I'm Mary S., the breeder behind Yosemite Shepherds located in Coarsegold, CA. We specialize in working-line German Shepherds bred for clear temperament, health, and versatility. Our puppies are raised in our home with early socialization, hands-on care, and a strong foundation for family life, service, or advanced training.

Q. & A. with Mary

  • Why did you start breeding?

I’ve been involved with German Shepherds for over 20 years and truly believe no other breed compares in intelligence, loyalty, and versatility. I fell in love with the breed at a young age, and that passion has only grown stronger over time. We are a family-based breeder, and all of our dogs and puppies are raised in our home with hands-on care and daily interaction.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program is built on some of the strongest working bloodlines in the world, including 3× WUSV World Champion lineage. We place a strong emphasis on temperament, health, structure, and stability. Our puppies receive both personal and professional attention from birth, helping set them up for success in family homes, service work, and active lifestyles.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have stock coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
