I'm Andrea S., the breeder behind Zanata Rhodesian Ridgebacks located in Ponder, TX. I am committed to ethical breeding & a continued effort to enhance the breed standard. We are a selective breeding program that focuses on temperament and the overall well-being of our dogs. We breed to produce happy and healthy puppies that can continue to thrive in their forever homes.
Q. & A. with Andrea
Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding about 5 years ago after my mentor passed away. I had two wonderful bitches that had accomplished a lot in show ring and field and we had plans for them while my mentor was still alive. After some careful thought, I proceeded to breed and continue to show and compete in field events.
What makes your program special?
All of our breedings are carefully and thoughtfully planned. We do not produce puppies on demand nor do we overuse our girls in order to meet demand. My puppies are raised using the puppy culture method of raising pups along with crate training, pack nurturing and early neurological stimulation to make them well suited for family life when they go home. I also support my owners for life.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are red wheaten. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
