I'm Sabrina K., the breeder behind Zähhund German Shepherds located in Festus, MO. Having dogs in our lives is such a blessing. We find so much fulfillment in providing the same to other homes! It’s our top priority to make sure each of our puppy families welcomes a happy and healthy new family member into their homes! We take pride in our integrity and transparency. And our dogs!
Q. & A. with Sabrina
Why did you start breeding?
Voodoo, my 1st service dog and first shepherd, changed my life. I trained him, gained independence & helped others. Ichigo, my 1st sport dog, brought new joy. I now have his brother, Vessel, whose our main stud dog. We continued our journey in IGP. Now, I dedicate myself to preserving the German Shepherd breed's loyalty & versatility, grateful for the love & lessons from these amazing dogs.
What makes your program special?
With a focus on versatility, collaboration with experts, and fully passion driven determination, I believe our program can make a difference on not only the stigma German Shepherds may hold with our stable, confident and well tempered dogs, but bring many happy, goofy memories from each of our puppies’ to clients’ homes.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include long and stock coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable, black, and bi-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Parent dogs
Touka, mom
German Shepherd
About Touka
Touka is my personal service dog. She is still training, but has adapted beautifully to task training such as but not limited to: Migraine alert, seizure response, deep pressure therapy etc-
Touka is a clear minded large female with medium drives, her off switch is phenomenal and after a day laying on the couch, she’s ready to come in bed and lay there too! She still possesses the drive to compete in IGP as we train more for our titles. And has passing hips, elbows, spine etc
Touka is the epitome of a well rounded German shepherd.
Lana, mom
German Shepherd
About Lana
Lana is a high drive sport dog who is actively working in IGP and earning titles.
She is fully health tested through SV with hips & elbows rated A (good) and spine good.
Lana is a larger female with nice bone, conformation, and the personality to boot. With intent in everything she does, she is the ultimate athlete.
However, the sweetest, loving girl inside our home with a good off switch, good manners and is good with kids, cats, and livestock. She is very attached to her person and neutral to everything else. (Dogs, people, etc) confident with no weird nerve or behavioral issues.
Full hard grips in protection, flashy obedience and a good nose to boot.
Shika, mom

Vessel, dad
German Shepherd
About Vessel
Vessel is a male German Shepherd. Carefully selected as a great representative of his breed, Sabrina decided to make him part of their program. Sabrina has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Zähhund German Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Spine (OFA, FCI), Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
