Meet the breeder

I'm Teddi C., the breeder behind Zia Desert Aussies located in New Mexico. We strive to breed quality pups that excel in their future role, whether it be as a family companion, working dog, or adventurer. We are a small family owned and run program, and love all of our dogs as part of the family. All of our dogs receive lots of love and attention daily.

Q. & A. with Teddi

  • Why did you start breeding?

My mother in law used to breed Pomeranians and Yorkies. But when we got Thelma and Prince we diced to start breeding them because they are just exceptional dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

We strive to breed the best. We do neurological stimulation on the puppies really early before their eyes open. We train them to ensure they use turf before leaving us. They have all the confidence to be with people and other dogs. They are constantly getting handled.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Aussiedoodle puppies are mini size. Miniature Australian Shepherd puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
