I'm Zippy B., the breeder behind Zulieka’s Kennel located in La Mesa, CA. After my first BRT was diagnosed with Addison's disease at two, my breeding program has an emphasis upon health testing. I have experienced first hand the importance of breeding puppies with health tested parents. I want to make sure I am only bringing the healthiest and happiest pups into the world.

Why did you start breeding?
I started showing with no intention of breeding. My second Black Russian Terrier was a fabulous male but I never bred him. My next was female was such a great example of the breed I knew I had to breed her.What makes your program special?
I prioritize testing, genetics, and I am proud to have produced fabulous temperaments for the breed.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Juvenile Laryngeal Paralysis & Polyneuropathy (JLPP), Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
