I'm Amy R., the breeder behind Zwinger Vom Greifjäger located in Plumas Lake, CA. I’m Amy, the breeder of Zwinger Vom Greifjäger. I have over 20 years of experience with German Shepherd's. My focus is on breeding long coat West German show line German Shepherds that possess balanced temperaments, structural soundness, and versatility for both family life and performance homes.

Why did you start breeding?
I have always had an interest in breeding but the bug got to me more after being around many of my friends that are breeders and support my decision to also breed. My main purpose is to provide quality German Shepherds that have been well bred and suited for both working homes and pet homes. I breed according to the German SV standards for the breed.What makes your program special?
I offer only long coat West German show line puppies. My dogs and puppies are raised in my home surrounded by my family. I find my puppy families have a more positive relationship with their puppy when I match the appropriate puppy to their family. Color and gender preferences are always given but it’s the drive, energy, and temperament that only a breeder will know best.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Getting a puppy from Amy
Amy has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Amy partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
"I match puppies based off preferences and what I feel is a good fit for each person. Puppies are usually 5-6 weeks old at the time of assigning puppies to their home. "
Price
"The price includes full AKC registration, first round of shots and deworming, beginning puppy socialization, started crate training, started on basic training, puppy go home bag, and microchipped. Deposit may be refunded or applied towards the purchase price. Please do not submit a deposit unless requested by me. I will not hold or reserve a puppy without a deposit."

Litter update on 15 Mar •…Babies are a week old and doing well. Black collar is my biggest pup and Pink collar is my smallest. It’s way too early to notice different traits or personalities. All I’m able to do is rate by their activity and how vocal they are. This week I’m expecting to see their eyes start to open and start walking instead of crawling.

Litter update on 08 Mar •…Babies have arrived on 3/7/26. 10 babies 7 boys 4 black 3 black and red 3 girls 1 black 2 black and red! Mom and babies are doing well and I hope to get pictures of each of the babies tomorrow.

Program update on 19 Feb 2025 •…Repeat breeding in partnership with Von Den Baren kennel. Puppies were born on 2/12/25 5 girls and 3 boys. Limited spots available on this litter. About Onri
Onri is a sweet girl that bonds hard with her family. I never thought I’d find another heart dog until I met Onri. She’s confident, loyal, loves to please, happy, playful, protective, and very easy to handle. Onri is the only breeding female from her Sire, V Dumbledore di Casa Caputi. I have had the honor of looking after Dumbledore so I know his personality well. He’s a giant love bug that just wants to be a lap dog. He can find fun in just about everything. I knew when I saw him that I had to have a pup from him. She is also DM clear

Dory is a female German Shepherd almost 6 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Amy decided to make her part of their program. Amy has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Temperament Test
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
