I'm the breeder behind Zwinger von dem Bauernhof located in Kansas City, MO. Our vision is to create and continue breeding for a utilitarian German Shepherd Dog with Temperament, Working Ability, the Conformation to get them there, and the Health to keep going.
Q. & A. with Maris
Why did you start breeding?
I have always been interested in working dogs and training. I love genetics and worked with many people over the years to learn about the breed. I have fallen in love with the breed the more I learn and do. I have sold dogs to police departments, Schutzhund, Mondio Ring and family homes. I believe it is important to preserve the breed as a utilitarian working dog!
What makes your program special?
I work closely with dogs from my bloodlines in the sport of Schutzhund/IGP to test my dogs breeding suitability according to the standard. Maintaining the correct utilitarian working dog characteristics that make them the ultimate loyal companions and very fun trainable dogs that I love about the breed. Temperament, Health, Intelligence, Courage, Agility, Drive, Heart.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
