Good Dog’s Coat Color in the Miniature Schnauzer Policy

The American Miniature Schnauzer Club (also known as AMSC or the parent club) recognizes only salt and pepper, black and silver, and solid black as acceptable coat colors in Miniature Schnauzers. All other colors including solid white, liver (or chocolate), and patterns including parti and merle have been deemed disqualifying by the AMSC.

Good Dog recognizes breeding programs producing coat colors described in the breed standard as salt and pepper, black and silver or solid black. These are referred to as Good Breeders of standard Miniature Schnauzers. Good Dog recognizes breeding programs producing white, liver (chocolate), and parti coat colors and patterns as Good Breeders of non-standard Miniature Schnauzers.

Good Dog does not recognize breeding programs that produce merle Miniature Schnauzers, as outlined in Good Dog’s Policy on Merles.
