Good Dog Courses FAQs

Education is at the core of Good Dog’s mission and we love providing our Good Breeders with access to new educational opportunities. The Good Dog Courses section of our Good Breeder Center offers you in depth information to aid you in breeding healthy and happy dogs. 

What courses are offered to me as a Good Breeder?

Our Good Breeders get free and exclusive access to the below Good Dog Courses. We are working hard to release more Good Dog Courses in the future. 

• Your Litter A to Z: The 4 section, 18 Module Your Litter A to Z course helps prepare and guide you all the way through whelping, raising and sending your puppies home.
• Breeding Foundations: This program includes eight courses that have been hand-selected by our team to help you get ready to breed and start a successful breeding program! 
• Savvy Socialization: This class discusses new ways to think about socialization of puppies, and how to improve upon current recommendations. 
• All About Poop: This course will teach you about dog poop: what's normal, what's not, and frequently asked questions.
• Puppy Training Program: This program is free for your puppy buyers who pay using the Good Dog Buyer Protection and Support option. It includes course materials and direct access to our live puppy coaching!
• Breeder Resources: Numerous articles breeders can access from dam care to general dog care to puppy care.
• The First 3 Weeks After Whelping: Expert guidance on how to provide the best care possible for your dam and newborn pups. Dive into topics like how to properly monitor your dogs, nutrition, lactation, APGAR scoring, and more.
• Canine Longevity: This presentation covers the steps to take to enable our dogs to live as long a life as possible. The discussion includes how we can increase our dogs’ chances of living long, active lives through the care we give them.
• Setting Up the Whelping Box: This mini course discusses preparing the whelping and nursery area.
• Good Dog Academy: Take your breeding program to the next level by learning best practices and tips that can help you successfully run your breeding program from start to finish.

How can I access the Good Dog Courses?

You can access all of the Good Dog Courses here. You’ll need to be logged in to your Good Dog account. Plus, we’ll be continuing to add new courses to this page regularly so we recommend bookmarking the page so you can easily access it in the future.

Can I earn certificates for completing Good Dog Courses?

Yes! Below is a listing of the thirteen certificates of recognition we currently offer in our Good Dog Courses. You’ll also find information on certificate requirements. All certificates are sent via email in PDF format. Keep an eye out for more certificates coming soon!

How long do the quizzes take to pass and complete?

As shown in the table above, we currently offer quizzes in Your Litter A to Z, Breeding Foundations, Savvy Socialization, The First 3 Weeks After Whelping and How to Use Good Dog.

The short quizzes take approximately 15 minutes to complete after you’ve read/watched the course materials. Once you have completed and passed the quizzes with a score of 80% or higher, you can fill out that course’s certificate request form to receive a copy of your certificate. 

If you don’t pass on the first try, that’s ok! Your results are emailed to you and you can try the quiz again as many times as you like. 

Your Litter A to Z has four sections. How long does it take to complete each section?

Each of the four sections in Your Litter A to Z contains reports to read, videos to watch, and podcasts to listen to. The approximate time each section takes to complete is four hours. The course is self-paced so you can go through the material all at one time or come back to it later whenever you choose. 

We offer module checklists so you can keep track of where you left off if you decide to come back later!

If I already completed Your Litter A to Z, can I still earn the four individual certificates for Sections 1-4? 

Yes! We released a new update to Your Litter A to Z on June 29, 2022, and now offer a Certificate of Pre-Breeding, Certificate of Pregnancy & Whelping, Certificate of Litter Management: Month 1, and Certificate of Litter Management: Month 2, in addition to a Certificate of Completion for the full A to Z course. If you previously earned the Your Litter A to Z Certificate of Completion, you can still earn the four new personalized certificates of recognition in Your Litter A to Z! Each section of Your Litter A to Z now has short quizzes to complete and pass. Once you have completed the quizzes in a section, you will be prompted to fill out a form to receive your new certificate. 

Can I share my certificate on social media?

Absolutely! Please feel free to share your certificates on your website, in your kennel or on social media. If you share on social media, don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and on Instagram (@goodbreedercenter and use the hashtag #goodbreedercertificate)! We would also love to share your accomplishment with other breeders in our private Good Breeder Facebook Group. Once you earn your certificate(s), we will ask your permission to share your achievement with your fellow breeders! 

Steps to add your certificate to social media and your website:

1. Save the certificate PDF file to your computer or phone.

2. Open the PDF file on your computer or phone and take a screenshot of your certificate.

3. You can then upload your screenshot to social media (don’t forget to tag us @goodbreedercenter and use the hashtag #goodbreedercertificate!) and your website.
