A Golden Retriever with a question mark thought bubble

Good Dog is on a mission to educate the public, support dog breeders, and promote canine health so we can give our dogs the world they deserve.

The fundamental right to breed is under attack and unless we unite to protect it, we could lose it forever. The future of our dogs starts with supporting dog breeders, today. And the future only looks brighter when dog breeders support one another.

Good Dog is on a mission to educate the public, support dog breeders, and promote canine health so we can give our dogs the world they deserve.

Too often, responsible dog breeders don’t get the recognition they deserve, even though breeders are unsung superheroes of the dog world. Without their sacrifices and efforts, the dogs we know and love would not exist. Not only are breeders dedicated to responsible breeding practices that produce physically and mentally sound dogs, but they bring much-needed joy, happiness, love, and true companionship into the world. Despite these incredible contributions to the world, breeders are still maligned, threatened, and pushed out of breeding due to misinformed anti-breeder propaganda and harmful, overreaching legislation. The people who we should be celebrating and supporting are the ones who are hurt the most.

Good Dog is on a mission to protect the fundamental right to breed, and the only way we can do this is by changing the conversation and advocating for breeders everywhere. Protecting the right to breed is the only way to ensure a future where responsible dog owners can choose a healthy, purpose-bred dog that’s a good match for their lifestyle. This is a massive undertaking, and we can’t do it alone — more importantly, we can’t do it divided.

If breeders everywhere, no matter their breed, don’t unite around our powerful shared love of dogs and belief in the fundamental right to breed, we will remain outnumbered and will lose the right to breed, and soon after, we will lose our future with purpose-bred dogs. Together, we can safeguard our right to breed and ensure a future with the dogs of our choice.

The Future of our Dogs Hangs in the Balance

Good Dog believes in the fundamental right to breed dogs because the future of well-bred dogs depends on dog breeders.

However, the future of the dog world hangs in the balance as the rights of dog breeders everywhere are threatened by overreaching, anti-breeder legislation resulting from misinformation and propaganda that misleads the public. Without dog breeders, the future of purpose-bred dogs and pet ownership, let alone breeding, looks bleak.

Good Dog is here to change the conversation so we can move towards a brighter future, where dog breeders are recognized for their hard work, passion, and expertise. We stand for and with dog breeders everywhere. Our legal team, composed of Harvard Law School graduates who worked at the top corporate law firms in New York City, spends each day fighting for your rights and the rights of all dog breeders. We are here to be a community for you, a platform for you, a voice for you, a protector for you, a safe space for you, and an advocate for you.

But, we can’t save the world of purpose-bred dogs by ourselves — we need you. By uniting, we will be strong enough to change the conversation and give our dogs the future they deserve. With dog lovers supporting breeders, and breeders lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down, we will be a fearless and tight-knit community that will pave the way forward.

With unity at the center of our mission, our community welcomes dog breeders of various types of dogs and multiple types of breeding programs — so long as the breeding program meets our minimum standards. Good Dog recognizes that everyone is at a different point in their journey as a breeder. If a breeder doesn’t meet our community standards at first, we always offer to work with them to help them improve their practices to meet our minimum standards, and even provide financial support for health testing. Our goal is to help each breeder reach their potential, and we're here to support them every step of the way.

We’re committed to promoting conversation and collaboration amongst dog breeders. For far too long, our differences have divided us, but our differences pale in comparison to what unites us – that we are breeders.

By uniting to protect the fundamental right to breed, we can be the change we want to see in the dog world. We can encourage legislators to listen to dog breeders. We can promote dog laws that reflect input from breeders and canine health experts and are backed by the latest science, facts, and evidence-based research. We can educate the public on responsible dog ownership and the importance of working with good breeders. We can help puppy buyers make informed decisions and connect good with good. We can provide breeders with the resources and support they need, so they can focus on what matters — the dogs. When all of these pieces fit together, we can finally give our dogs the world they deserve.

When we work together, we can build a better world for our dogs and the people who love them. We can show the world what dog breeders and dog lovers are truly made of, and our legacy will be generations of happy and healthy dogs to come.
