Chestnut Praline is officially out on the town today. Our very last pup from Pumpkin’s litter, lovingly nicknamed Lorax thanks to that fabulous mustache of his, is here in Decatur with me at Harmon Park. Side note, if y’all haven’t brought your kiddos here, this park is downright lovely. We meet a lot of our families here and it never disappoints. Lorax handled the car ride like a champ. He was a little nervous and did his classic nervous drooling routine just like his mama, but my goodness he was so patient and so quiet the whole way. Now he is here with me waiting for his new family who should be pulling up any moment and we could not be more excited for them. He is going to make someone the happiest little sidekick. We still have three sweet puppies from our Autumn litter hoping to get their reservations finalized before Thanksgiving. Our Three Amigos from Autumn’s Litter are out here striking poses like they’re ready for the cover of Pup Vogue. These boys absolutely aced their photos this morning and their soft wavy coats are getting prettier by the minute. Both of our handsome parti boys are still hoping for their happily ever after gotcha dates and they have informed me they plan on being elite Thanksgiving helpers. Family coming over. Spills on the floor. Someone drops a roll. These two said they will be the first ones on the scene offering exceptional cleanup services and moral support. And let me tell you about our sweet phantom girl. She is the final female pup for the entire year of 2025. The last girl standing and she is looking for her forever family too. We cannot leave her behind while everyone else has their gotcha dates scheduled this week. Nobody wants to be the one pup sitting at home while all the excitement and turkey legs are happening. Today was a big adventure day for our Autumn litter. First vet visit. First car ride. First time realizing the world moves a whole lot faster than their little puppy tummies expected. Bless their hearts, a couple of them got a touch of motion sickness, but that’s pretty normal for seven week old babies taking their very first road trip. We’ll be working on some fun little desensitizing car sessions to help these sweeties learn the joy of cruising like pros soon enough. Everyone passed their health checks with glowing reports. And the vet staff absolutely fell in love. They kept bragging on how calm and laid back this bunch is. Our party boys especially were cool as cucumbers the entire time. They just vibed through the appointment like little professionals and not a single one even fussed when they got microchipped. Total champs. The puppies really did themselves in today. They played so hard that by the time I went in to clean their potty tray every single one of them was already piled up and ready for a nap. I managed to sneak a few short little videos before they all drifted off again and goodness they are precious. We’ve got a big day tomorrow with our vet appointment and everyone will be getting their health checks done in preparation for go home weekend coming up fast. The sun finally peeked out today and our autumn babies got to enjoy a little outside time while it was warm. Fresh air, a little sunshine, and enough wiggles to wear them out while we did some cleaning and rearranging in their puppy pen area. Now every single one of them has a full belly and are starting to doze off for that perfect mid afternoon toddler style nap. Their minds are engaged their hearts are happy and this is exactly what we love to see in growing puppies. Our sweet Pumpkin Spice officially traded in his latte name for something even sweeter. Teddy. And yall it fits him perfectly. This boy met his forever family yesterday and the joy was just overflowing. We are so excited for them and cannot wait to watch his little love story unfold. That means we now have ONE final pup from his litter who is hoping to find his forever family too. This little guy is ready to melt someone’s heart and we would love to help make that happen soon. Is it a puppy or is it a teddy bear? Honestly at this point I am not sure. I was holding this fluffy little fella from Pumpkin’s Litter this morning and I swear he looked like he was one wink away from asking for honey and a nap. Our adorable sable boy is meeting his forever family today and we are just as excited as they are. This sweet kiddo won hearts from day one and now he is off to start his happily ever after.
