I'm Kelsey H., the breeder behind 3 Barrels Farms, LLC located in Ash Grove, MO. We are family-focused breeders, raising and loving top-quality puppies. We take great pride in our dogs, pups, and our program! Our puppies are raised alongside our children to develop well-socialized and happy puppies. Not only do we vaccinate our puppies according to best practices, but we also genetically test our adult dogs to make sure we are breeding healthy puppies for the long term. Our puppies are also micro-chipped with Reunite in the event they ever go missing.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    With a little push from my grandma, a reputable breeder for more than 30 years, I finally made the jump from public education to breeding. Breeding has allowed my family growth in ways I couldn't have imagined. My kids have learned more responsibility and we all absolutely love having puppies to snuggle most of the time!

  • What makes your program special?

    From the time they are born, our puppies are well-loved and handled by our children who are very involved in our program. We believe that taking care of and loving puppies is one of the best ways we can create a win-win situation for our kids and our puppies! We provide ongoing support to our clients and love when we get photos of them growing up!

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red tri-color, black tri, red merle, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Getting a puppy from Kelsey

Kelsey has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Puppy prices include a $850 non-refundable deposit and between $650 - $1,350 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Neuroaxonal Dystrophy NAD, Non-HSF4 Cataracts (NHHC) , Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Generalized, Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1), Intestinal Cobalamin Malabsorption (IGS CUBN Exon 53), Border Collie Type, Intestinal Cobalamin Malabsorption (IGS), Australian Shepherd Type, Hyperuricosuria (HUU), Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC), Australian Shepherd Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    My experience with Kelsey and 3 Barrels Farm was top notch! Communication was excellent. We received regular updates and pictures prior to picking up our puppy. She provided all the necessary information so that we were ready to welcome our new baby home. On pick up day, she stayed in contact and we had a seamless transfer experience at the Springfield airport. Most importantly, she and her family raise well rounded, healthy puppies! Our Lainey never missed a beat! After a long day of travel, she settled right in with our 5 kiddos. She is the perfect mix of heart and energy. She was essentially potty trained and crate trained in less than 3 days. At 13 weeks, she knows all of her basic commands and we are looking forward to showing off in puppy class later this month! I am a veterinarian of 20 years and I run a practice dedicated to responsible breeders. I have worked with countless programs over the years and Kelsey and her family are doing it right!     I'm so thankful for the compassion and love Kelsey puts into her pups. I have had the pleasure of getting to know her through getting two beautiful Black Tri puppies.
