I'm Erica B., the breeder behind 4 Clovers Kennel located in Carlisle, PA. We are ethical, home-based hobby breeders of top-quality Miniature American Shepherds and Basset Fauve de Bretagne. We produce both performance puppies and beloved family companions with a focus on temperament and intelligence. Each of our dogs is extensively health testing and socialized prior to leaving for their new homes. We want our puppies to be set up for success!
Q. & A. with Erica
Why did you start breeding?
With over 60 years of breeding and showing experience in my family, breeding is in my blood! I got introduced to American Shepherds when one of my family members welcomed one into their home. I fell in love with that dogs and decided to get a littermate. My first breeding, I got my true performance dog, and I am so pleased with how that litter turned out. I also work with Basset Fauve de Bretagne in my program, and I love their personalities and beauty. Every litter is always a little different, but it is so fulfilling to see the different personalities and such a joy and challenge to hand-raise each puppy. I love watching them blossom!
What makes your program special?
As an ethical, experienced breeder, I strive to not only better the breeds that I work with, but produce puppies with outstanding temperaments from exceptional bloodlines with proven longevity. My dogs are an integral part of my family and daily life. This creates the ideal environment for puppies. From birth, they grow in a secure, loving environment where they know that they matter to their family -- that they have a purpose. I am truly passionate for my dogs, and my love for these dogs shines through in every aspect of my breeding program!
