I'm Kristan O., the breeder behind A & K Kennels located in Lawrence County, TN. Our goal is to produce puppies that make wonderful companions, so we breed with a focus on health and temperament above all. We want all of our pups to live long and happy lives with their forever families! We aim to produce the perfect family dog so that others can enjoy the wonderful dogs we love so much!
Q. & A. with Kristan
Why did you start breeding?
We got our boy, Cooper, with no plans to breed him. However, the more we spent time with him and the more other people got to know him, we realized everyone wanted puppies like him! So, we decided to get into breeding to give more people the opportunity to have a Cooper! The fulfillment of seeing new puppies born, watching them grow, and helping shape them and train them in preparation for their new forever homes is the most rewarding experience ever!
What makes your program special?
We take great pride in our program and are dedicated to producing happy and healthy puppies. When we bring a life into the world, we make sure it gets the best start possible. This includes proper health care and socialization for each puppy, but it starts even earlier than birth. We set our puppies up for success by carefully selecting the parents of each litter, keeping in mind factors such as health, ability, and personality.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, red, and parti. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
