I'm Susie M., the breeder behind A Star is Born Doodles located in Jackson, MI. dedicated to raising excellent temperament, healthy puppies with beautiful coats. I take great pride in my pups. Breeding has been an absolute joy of a journey, and I am so happy to be able to share these wonderful dogs with other loving families and individuals.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My love for the Bernedoodle inspired me to share this amazing breed with the world in a responsible way. I understand the very important role that breeders undertake; today’s breeders are the guardians of the future Bernedoodles.

  • What makes your program special?

    I am very proud to be breeding these incredible dogs. It is important to me that I am breeding versatile, well-rounded, socialized, and healthy pups for my buyers to welcome into their homes and hearts. Puppies sizes range from larger mini to small standard and are estimated to be 30-45 pounds. A few will be 50-65 pounds full grown.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include mini and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include red, sable, black and white, tri-color, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Susie

Susie has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,300 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"Price includes 12 month health guarantee, first vaccinations, wormings, Puppy Culture Protocol & Early Neurological Stimulation, Litter training, beginning crate & house training, go home goodie bag. $500 Deposit is require to reserve picking position for the litter chosen. If no puppies result from that breeding, deposit may be pushed to the next litter or the buyer may put in a request for refund. If puppies result from said breeding, deposits are non-refundable."

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), von Willebrand Disease II (vWD II), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, Full Embark Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Susie was so great to work with while my wife and I were searching for our first puppy! You can tell that Susie really cares about each and every puppy and does what it takes to make sure they are ready for their forever homes. The process was so easy and Susie did a great job of communicating about the puppy we were interested in. She shared extra pictures and videos to get us excited and was very helpful with getting us started on the purchasing process. When we arrived, Susie had even made us a little makeshift potty box for our little guy, since we had a long road trip home.
