Q. & A. with Mel
Why did you start breeding?
We got two standard huskies for Christmas several years ago and fell in love with the breed. Then we were told about the benefits of Woolys so we hunted for the “perfect dog” and got Bear. It’s grown from there. We now have 3 males and 4 females with more to come I’m sure.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are a business but they’re also family. We do trust training with pups from day one to make them calm and trusting.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include brown and white, red and white, gray and white, black tan and white, sable and white, agouti and white, white, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
