I'm Stephanie B., the breeder behind Adrastia Standard Schnauzers located in Chesapeake, VA. We offer an all-purpose German farm dog that can really do it all. Our dogs are beautiful and each is involved in rally, obedience, barn hunt, lure coursing, and dock diving. This is the dog with the thinking brain, and they are wonderful dogs for dedicated, active families. We look forward to connecting with you!
Q. & A. with Stephanie
Why did you start breeding?
With our 3rd and 4th SS, I found a mentor to teach me to groom so I could eventually show my own dogs in conformation. Additionally, I took handling classes, showed, and groomed my own dog while doing rally, barn hunts, lure coursing, and dock diving. After a long journey of showing and planning for a litter, we just had our first litter in March 2021 after planning for almost 2 years!
What makes your program special?
Dog showing and sports are not mainstream events. I come from the world of companion dogs and over time and experience began to branch out into each with friends, mentors, trainers, and breeders. Being involved in conformation helped me learn and appreciate the structure, coat, and breed type in the breed.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are pepper and salt. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
