I'm Mandy N., the breeder behind After Midnight Akitas located in Coalport, PA. We have over 15 years experience in the breed. Temperament and health are our main objective when producing pups. We do show our dogs as time and money allows. We owner handle our own dogs, never send them off with a handler. We’ve been fairly successful in the show ring. Our dogs are all raised in our home with other dogs/animals. They are all people friendly and well socialized. They are all vet checked annually with OFA health testing completed. I have many, many references available. We do have contract and we screen homes, pups don’t go just anywhere. All pups come with limited pet registration only. They are not to be bred, period! All pups come with a 2 year genetic health guarantee and a lifetime take policy should something happen. Any questions, just ask!

Why did you start breeding?
Something I’ve always wanted to do. Once my kids were born ( only a year apart) I became a stay at home mom which gave me the time to get started. Been doing it ever since.What makes your program special?
Our akitas are not textbook akitas. They are super social and friendly. They will lick you to death! They also all get along well with each other as well as small dogs/ other animals! Temperament is key!!Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

“Price includes Limited AKC registration, vet health certificate, first shots, multiple dewormings, current puppy food, lifetime breeder support. Deposit holds your place in line to choose a pup. Deposit is refundable until pup reaches 4 weeks of age. After that deposit is non refundable but it can be transferred to a future litter.”

Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Dentition

I’m very satisfied with this breeder, and is pleased with the Akita I purchased thru them. Temperament is everything when it comes to Akitas and I think AFTER MIDNIGHT AKITAS nailed it. Breeder was very attentive to me thru messaging ( a lot of breeders aren’t ). She also provided pictures and updates as I went thru the process with her up until the day the puppy was delivered. When things got mixed up with shipping the breeder drove 10 hours and hand delivered the puppy to me themselves.
