I'm Christi & Alexis C., the breeder behind Afterhours German Wirehaired Pointers and Basset Fauve de Bretagne located in Reddick, FL. We are a family kennel that has bred several AKC Master Hunters, NAVHDA Versatile Champions, over a hundred AKC Show Champions, Best in Show Winners, National & Regional GWPCA Specialty Winners, top-producing sires, hunting companions, and the most wonderful family pets. We strive to breed versatile German Wirehaired Pointers that not only have nice conformation and can work a field but have great personalities. We also believe in health screenings on our breeding dogs to ensure happy healthy puppies.

Why did you start breeding?
Tina and Walt both agreed that with their new breeding program they needed a unique breed that was versatile in both the conformation ring and would excel in the field. After months of research, they decided the German Wirehaired Pointer was the ultimate breed. After acquiring their first GWP they fell in love with the breed. Since that time they have accomplished more than they ever anticipated. Throughout the years, Walt and Tina Whitmore are proud breeders of the top field and show GWP's, including NAVHDA UT Prize 1 (perfect score), multiple Best in Show dogs, many National and Regional Specialty winners, Master Hunters, Superior ROM's, and Top Producing Sires and Dams. Currently, Afterhours has the most CHIC'd GWP’s. CHIC means completed and passed all health screenings that are recommended by the GWPCA (German Wirehaired Pointer Club Of America). Christi Schoessow Chism is the daughter of Tina Whitmore. She also shared the love of the breed with her parents. At a very young age, she traveled throughout the United States successfully competing against adults. When Christi got married she moved to Florida and started her family. When she moved to Florida she continued the legacy of Afterhours Kennels. She has three children Alexis, Allison, and Madison. At the age of 7, Alexis chose her GWP Cutie, they successfully competed against the top professionals.What makes your program special?
Afterhours is dedicated to breeding beautiful purebred dogs whose appearance, temperament, ability, and health are true to the German Wirehaired Pointer. We are recognized by the American Kennel Club as a Breeder of Merit, along as AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. Both Afterhours GWP and our Junior Handler Allison Chism have been recognized as Breeder/Junior Handler Spotlight by the American Kennel Club.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Basset Fauve de Bretagne puppies are red wheaten. German Wirehaired Pointer puppies include liver and white and liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $2,300 - $3,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“The puppies are AKC registered, have a health guarantee, microchipped, health certificates, and lifetime breeder support. Please contact us regarding the deposit. Deposit for GWP $200. Deposit for Fauves $500.”
Contract & health guarantee
Christi & Alexis may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
