I'm Brianne K., the breeder behind Akela Goldens located in Puyallup, WA. We raise English Crème Golden Retrievers and take pride in the training, care & love thy receive. Our Goldens have cleared all their OFA and are completely cleared of all genetic diseases. All of our puppies undergo thorough sensory testing and have passed their vet examinations.

Why did you start breeding?
We chose to originally get into breeding back in 2009 because we fell in love with the breed. We have a partially deaf daughter and an autistic son, so we originally trained them as therapy and service dogs. When we saw how easy it was to train them and how much love they have we decided to share this breed with the world! We only select dogs that come from Champion bloodlines for our program.What makes your program special?
We start them from day one as the hands on approach with all of our puppies. They each get specialized time undergoing sensory stimulation and training. Our dogs have all cleared their OFA and completely cleared their DNA health checks. Not only do we prioritize their health but we breed for their temperaments as well. We give each family a complete puppy kit so they have everything they need.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Brianne
Brianne has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Brianne partners with them to find the best puppy match.

"The price includes a 2-year health guarantee, Full Vet Exam, AKC registration, current vaccinations, deworming, pre-paid microchip, puppy kit and puppy socialization. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color or size. Includes AKC registration, pre-paid microchip, health exam, & 2 yr health guarantee."

Good level

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
