I'm Barbara D., the breeder behind Allegro Miniature Schnauzer’s located in Coatesville, PA. We are passionate about Miniature Schnauzers. Our program is an example of how to responsibly breed and raise quality, purebred and smart Miniature Schnauzer’s that are loving and welcome additions to your family and community. Our dogs are beautiful and active in the show ring and doing dog sports.
Q. & A. with Barbara
Why did you start breeding?
Breeding of purebred MS is something I've wanted to do for many years but refused to do until I could dedicate time and knowledge to do it right! As an active member of the American Miniature Schnauzer Club I met and got to know most of the top breeders in the country and I eventually decided to take the plunge. My primary mentors, Maplewynd and Riversong MS, have been extremely generous!
What makes your program special?
Purebred Preservation! My focus is on healthy, structurally sound, well adjusted puppies. Puppies and mom sleep in my bedroom and at 3 days old they start to engage in scientifically proven protocols that make them mentally and physically stronger, happier dogs. Once vaccinated, my puppies have a busy social calendar with daily visitors and trips. Every day is a new adventure for Allegro puppies!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are salt and pepper. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
