Meet the breeder

I'm Liz F., the breeder behind Alpenglow Beagles located in Loveland, CO. Our beagles are our companions as well as our show dogs and are very much part of our family. We compete in AKC conformation events, agility and scent-work and breed occasionally from health tested parents.

Q. & A. with Liz

  • Why did you start breeding?

The Christmas I was four years old, Santa delivered my first puppy in his sleigh. Her name was Sally and she looked just perfect to me: one white eye patch with a black ear and one black eye patch with a white ear. Mixed breed meant nothing to me. I had fallen in love with my first dog.Ginger joined the family in 1985. My first beagle. Now I was in love with an entire breed. Buster came into my life next. Mostly of field origin, he and I headed to our first dog show -- the Terry-All Kennel Club in Denver -- in November 1987. Buster won that day, despite the fact that I knew nothing about show leads or grooming, and so began my journey with this breed that has now spanned some 35 years.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include 13-inch and 15-inch sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black white and tan and black tan and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
